Helmut Krasnik urged for more cooperation between European companies in contributing to a stronger alternative to Facebook and Google during the NxtMedia Conference 2017.

Helmut Krasnik, the managing director of corporate digital platforms at Axel Springer, is one of the initiators behind the new European platform Verimi. Verimi is a cooperative platform for registration, identification and data gathering online that aims to be a digital “master key” for its users. By helping users and storing relevant data, Krasnik think Verimi will act as a support to journalism. On that basis, Kjersti Løken Stavrum invited Krasnik to a small talk on the value of more cooperation and the future of journalism.

Krasnik was a key figure on stage during the Tinius Talk called “Cooperate, or die” at the NxtMedia Conference 2017 on November 15th. He participated in the panel discussion together with Trond Riiber Knudsen, Founder TRK Group, Stig Eide Sivertsen, Multiple board executive, Chairman of Board Parrot Play, Ingvild Næss, Chief Privacy Officer, Schibsted ASA.

– I think a common login solution for media companies potentially will attract more users, subscribers and create an increased willingness to pay for edited content. We are dedicated to increasing the value of journalism, and further develop sustainable business models, Kjersti Løken Stavrum said when interviewed after the debate.
